he YWCA has a staff of fifteen--only seven of whom are full time
employees. We count on nearly 400 active volunteers who share
the ywca
their time and professional expertise to provide programs and services

to more than 20,000 individuals each year.
The YWCA Tucson's Racial Justice Program received top honors
from the National League of Cities for Undoing Racism. The Board of
Directors of the YWCA was recognized for their outstanding leader-
ship by the Volunteer Center of Tucson and the Racial Justice Youth
Committee received the Governor's Volunteer Service Award.

hile the YWCA was established more than 150 years ago as
an organization for women who were also members of certain
the ywca
Protestant denominations, it is no longer a religious organization
and membership has been open to all women for more than forty
years. The YWCA Tucson is proud we were the first YWCA in the
United States to open membership to men and to elect men to
serve on our Board of Directors.
