Skills for Successful Employment Workshops

Want help looking for and landing a job?

Enroll in the next Skills for Successful Employment (SSE) Workshop, a YWorks program designed to help women who are unemployed, underemployed or reentering the workplace after a time away. 

For nearly a decade, this program has been helping women - including women with some of the biggest obstacles to employment - find work. This program will help you:

  • Assess your personal skills
  • Identify your individual interests
  • Learn interview skills
  • Learn to market yourself 
  • Improve your computer skills (Basic Skills, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet)
  • Review educational options
  • Create an effective résumé
  • Develop job search strategies
  • Learn from others in weekly job strategy groups
  • Receive career guidance for six months


The Skills for Successful Employment Workshops consist of four days of training. Two days of job-related workshops take place each month on the second and third Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with continental breakfast and lunch provided. Two days of computer training take place each month on the second and third Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Here's what makes this program unique in Tucson:

  • It's the only employment readiness program designed especially for women
  • Six months of one-on-on career guidance following completion of the workshops
  • Participants receive up to a week's worth of beautiful, job-ready clothing from Your Sister's Closet (for no charge!)
  • Participants also receive a free intake evaluation with the Women's Counseling Network, if necessary, to help identify barriers to employment and resources to address them
