With a staff of fifteen----only five are full-time employees----the YWCA provides
programs and services to thousands individuals each year. This would not be possible
without more than 400 volunteers who are involved in all aspects of the organization.
Volunteers work with staff to design and implement programs, play integral roles in
service delivery, develop financial resources, assure quality and direction, and
adherence to our mission by serving on the Finance and Executive Committees and
Board of Directors. The YWCA is particularly proud of the fact that we have
attracted reliable committed volunteers who are willing to offer their expertise to our
organization.
Volunteer therapists provide long-term counseling to women through the Women’s
Counseling Network, professional trainers provide workshops for the participants in
our women’s leadership program and annual conference. The YWCA always needs
volunteers to provide direct service to unemployed women who use the services of
Your Sister’s Closet and to help us manage the inventory of donated clothing.
Each program director is responsible for volunteer recruitment and training. We
believe that the key to a good volunteer program is providing excellent staff support,
valuing the work of volunteers and providing them with opportunities for meaningful
work that clearly makes a difference for our organization.
If you are interested in becoming a YWCA volunteer----please contact us.

Your Sister's Closet (YSC) provides clothing appropriate for job interviews, in an
attractive and supportive environment, to women who are seeking employment –
empowering them to interview with confidence. Volunteers are needed throughout
the week to assist with client services as well as clothing intake and inventory
management. YSC also accepts donations of clothing, accessories and personal
grooming products on Mondays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please click here for a
more detailed description of YSC volunteer opportunities.
The YWorks program is designed to address the employment needs of women who
are unemployed, underemployed or transitioning in the workforce. Volunteers are
needed to provide assistance during the computer component of the YWorks
program. Volunteer speakers are needed during the Skills for Successful Employment
component of the program to motivate participants, share success stories or offer
insight on employment trends. Please click here for a more detailed description of
PHASE/YWorks volunteer opportunities.
The Women & Money program is a long-term initiative designed to advance
financial literacy among women of all ages, backgrounds and income levels. Women

variety of workshops and electronic communications throughout the year. Volunteers
are needed to serve on the planning committee for both the one-day conference and
workshops throughout the year.
The Bright Futures Scholarship program provides ten scholarships to female
students who have demonstrated determination in overcoming an obstacle and who
plan to enroll at Pima Community College. Women volunteers are needed to serve as
mentors and provide support to the young women in the Bright Futures program and
guide them as they make decisions about their futures. Please click here to apply to
be a Bright Futures Mentor.
